Sébastian Jacot

Flotist

Born in Geneva, Sébastian Jacot started playing the flute at age eight. He studied at "the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Genève" in Prof. Jacques Zoon's class. From 2006 to 2008, Sébastian Jacot was Assistant Principal Flute under Maestro Edo de Waart at the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2008 he has served as Principal Flutist at the Saito Kinen Festival under Maestro Seiji Osawa and is now Solo Flutist at the Contrechamps Ensemble in Geneva.

He has been invited as principal flute in orchestras such as the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Mozart Orchestra in Bologna under Maestro Claudio Abbado, the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Stockholm Radio Symphony Orchestra, and is a regular player with the Munich Chamber Orchestra. Sebastian Jacot has received many prizes such as the First Prize at the famous Kobe International Flute Competition, First Prize at the Carl Nielsen International Competition, and in 2015 as well First Prize at the ARD Competition. Since 2014 he is principal flutist of the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig.

Since 2018 Sébastian is a member of the Ensemble Juliette Rahon & Co and Performed the Premiere of the piece "1001 Leben", in Leipzig (Germany) .
